Winners of
National Pro-Life Award Announced
November 20, 2012
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- At the national interdenominational
pro-life prayer service to be held on the 40th memorial of Roe
vs. Wade, the National Pro-Life Religious Council (NPRC) will
present its Pro-life Recognition Award to two outstanding
pro-life warriors, Reggie Littlejohn, president of Women’s
Rights Without Frontiers, and Michael Schwartz, longtime
pro-life leader and strategist.
They will receive the
awards on Friday, January 25 during the 19th annual National
Memorial for the Pre-born and Their Mothers and Fathers, to be
held in DAR Constitution Hall from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Father Frank Pavone, President of NPRC and National Director of
Priests for Life, said the awards honor individuals who give
steadfast witness to the Biblical Christian teaching on the
sanctity of life.
“Michael Schwartz has been fighting for
the unborn since the beginning of this battle, holding various
positions both with pro-life organizations, such as the Catholic
League and Concerned Women for America, and on the staff of key
pro-life advocates in the federal government. He is a valued
strategic thinker in our movement," Father Pavone said.
“Reggie leads an international coalition that fights human
trafficking and sexual slavery around the world,” Father Pavone
said. “She works to end to China’s forced abortion policy and to
expose violations of women’s rights everywhere. She was the one
who first brought to the attention of many pro-life leaders and
other Americans the plight of Chen Guangcheng, who was
imprisoned and tortured in China for his opposition to forced
abortion.”
The National Memorial for the Pre-Born will
occur on the morning of the March for Life, and is open to the
public. DAR Constitution Hall is at 1776 D Street Northwest,
Washington, D.C.
The 2013 service will commemorate 40
years since Roe v. Wade legalized abortion, and will include a
memorial for Nellie Gray, who founded the March for Life in 1974
and remained its leader until her death in August of 2012.
